General Information
In many sectors and applications today, Tape and Reel has become an important alternative packaging method for trays or tubes. One advantage is that each reel contains more components than a tray or tube, which can drastically reduce your assembly down time. Another is the importance of SMT products arriving to the customer without damage. Tape and Reel packaging protects against mechanical and handling damage and is designed to support your SMT operations…so why would you have it any other way?
Standard Tape and Reel features:
Carrier tape available in 16mm, 24mm, 32mm, 44mm and 56 mm widths. (See table below)
Transparent cover tape allows device inspection without having to remove or handle components.
Conductive carrier tape and antistatic-coated cover tape provide ESD protection.
Tape and Reel services comply with current EIA-481-C standards.
Special locking design provides additional lead protection.
Dry Pack sealing in moisture barrier bags.
Quality Assurance
Additional standard services include Peel Back Force Testing to ensure compatibility with today's component feeding equipment. Peel back force analyzers are installed at all major taping sites to monitor the force is within 20 to 80gm (2N to 0.8N).
